I wasn’t sure whether the brogue pattern and chunky sole would work together, but the combination looks balanced in person. The zipper is convenient, and the laces still let me fine-tune the fit. They aren’t especially lightweight, but the weight makes them feel sturdy rather than awkward.

These have the look of a traditional dress boot but feel more practical because of the thicker rubber sole. I wore them for several hours at a work event and had no major discomfort. The upper creased slightly after the first wear, but nothing unusual for leather boots.
